Will new conversational AI platforms like ChatGPT and Bard be the end of search engines? ¿Serán las nuevas plataformas de IA conversacional como ChatGPT y Bard el final de los buscadores?

In December 2022 OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, a powerful conversational AI platform capable of responding to and doing virtually anything you ask it to do. The platform has been the fastest growing in the history of the Internet, reaching 100 million users in two months. It is so powerful and capable of generating such complete and informed answers, that some experts have commented that it could kill Google and similar search engines.

In response to this potential threat, Google is introducing Bard, its new conversational AI to face ChatGPT.

Bard is therefore the AI-based conversational technology from Google, a company that is undoubtedly a benchmark in the world of AI.

Now it seems that Bard is only available to a group of testers who will test it before making it available to the public in the coming weeks.

The tool will be integrated into the Google search engine and will provide us with current and high-quality answers based on real information verified in natural language. We will be able to ask it to recommend movies or series, to give us ideas for a gift for a certain person, or even to write us essays of a certain number of words.

Undoubtedly this new type of conversational AI opens a new debate about the future of traditional search engines. Will it be the next step and therefore the beginning of the end of them?

We will have to wait and see how it evolves.
